Siji Island lies approximately 5km west of Dongji Island. It is relatively flat and has no towering basalt square mountains to block against the powerful northeasterly winds, and so offer a poor anchorage. Due to the lack of drinking water and electricity, the local villagers have all been relocated to Magong, leaving behind empty old houses and temples.
The most unique sight on the island is the basalt pillars on its west and northwestern side. These evenly spaced pillars run for around 800m and form an impressive spectacle. They have now been declared a basalt pillar preserve by the government.
